Strategic Technology Advisory

Architecture review, technology selection and roadmaps, explained in terms of business outcomes.

The problem

Technical decisions are being made without anyone able to explain the trade-offs in business terms.

Who it's for

Leadership teams who need an outside view they can trust before committing budget.

Advisory work exists because technical decisions and business decisions are the same decision, made by different people with different vocabulary. When those conversations do not connect, money gets spent on the wrong thing.

What this covers

Architecture review. An outside look at how your systems fit together, what the genuine risks are, and which of them matter this year.

Technology selection. Choosing between options with the trade-offs stated plainly — cost, lock-in, hiring implications, longevity — rather than a recommendation with no reasoning attached.

Infrastructure planning. Sizing, resilience and cost for what you are building next, not what you built five years ago.

Roadmap. A sequence of work, ordered by value and dependency, that a board can actually approve.

How we work

We read the code and talk to the team. Advisory based only on a slide deck is not advisory, it is guesswork with a logo on it.

Where there is a disagreement between what the business wants and what the systems allow, we say so early rather than discovering it mid-project.

What you get

  • A written assessment in plain language, with the technical detail in an appendix
  • Options, with the case for and against each
  • A recommendation, and the reasoning behind it
  • No obligation to have us implement it

On independence

We do not receive commission or referral fees from vendors or hosting providers, and we do not recommend a technology because it is easier for us to work with. Where two options are close, we will say they are close rather than manufacture a preference.

If the honest recommendation is that you do not need the project, we will say that — it costs us work in the short term and is worth more in the long term.

What you get

  • →Architecture and systems review
  • →Technology and vendor selection
  • →Infrastructure planning
  • →Technology roadmap
